A beach episode! Jason has already written an entry detailing the plot, comparing it with the manga and has a more balanced set of screencaps. So I’m free to talk about what I want to talk about. :3 Natsumi wants to enter the stand-up comedy competition to win the Gundam knockoff model for Mutsumi but needs a partner. Koyuki steps into the breach, easily recognizing Natsumi because of her scent and despite her changed appearance.
Quite interesting to contrast Koyuki to Giroro. The latter immediately noticed Natsumi’s attraction to Mutsumi and actively tries to keep them apart. However Koyuki doesn’t seem to display any jealousy and even helps Natsumi in her endeavour to win Saburo’s favour. Ironically, it’s Keroro’s interference and Koyuki’s corniness that ensures that Natsumi gains her objective of winning the model - which are consolation prizes rather than the top prize (a refrigerator).
Also while Giroro is all steamed up by Natsumi’s adult appearance, Koyuki isn’t hot and bothered at all. It suggests to me that, for Koyuki, it was indeed love at first smell.
Somehow the opening pic reminds me of the GSD ep where Luna followed Athrun to his Kira meeting. Gotta catch this series soon.
Good spot, bro! Though Koyuki-chan prob doesn’t need fancy listening dish to listen in or a mini-copter to follow her quarry. It’s a great series and there are at least 4 Chinese fansub groups who have worked on it.
