Well, no Natsumi x Koyuki in either of the two stories in this episode. :( There’s a meaningful glance from Koyuki in the first half when Keroro decides to invade the pool. :3 Giroro oogling the technical hologram of Natsumi in her swimsuit was priceless though and the tragedy of him not getting past the footwash barrier. LOL
I wasn’t that surprised that Keroro actually beat Natsumi at swimming. He is, afterall, a frog. But it was nice how Natsumi was gracious about her defeat. Again, in typical style of this series, their feel-good moment is wrecked when Tamama slaps aside their attempt at a handshake and proceeds to rub in the victory a la Yukari-sensei’s appalling “Loser team! Loooooooser team!!”
The second half featured the ghost story telling competition. Fuyuki crushes the competition and the human team wins as a result. I was thinking if it were manga Koyuki, it would be more in character for her to use the excuse of being frightened to bury her face in Natsumi’s chest. As it was, I just wished that Momoka had grabbed Tamama instead of also glomping Natsumi’s arm too. Almost looks like Natsumi’s got a harem of most of the female cast. :D~~~
How is the manga different? Is Koyuki lesbian in it?
Is the manga any good? I’ve already wasted money on CY’s version of Ouran, which was nothing compared to the anime.
There’s some change in the ordering in the move from manga to anime. While SUNRISE succeeds in making the story feel more integrated, some of the manga’s jokes didn’t work so well as they did in the manga. Caveat: I only own Vol 1-2 and merely browsed the rest though I plan on catching up.
Specifically about Koyuki, yes - she still has the hots for Natsumi. And she is even more aggressive about it compared to the anime with Natsumi getting groped by Koyuki’s “let me wash your back / oh my hand slipped!” repeatedly. IIRC Koyuki never outrages Natsumi’s modesty in the anime.
