Really enjoyed this episode. I guess it helps that my expectations of this series were lower than low. For the first time, it feels like the stories of all the girls were coming together into some sort of *shock horror* coherent whole. I was also shrieking with laughter at how the series seem to be like verging on being some kind of terrible travesty - cum -unwanted- homage to MariMite with the whole loss of blue umbrella and hydrageneas forming the background of this episode. There was something for everyone and the key frames for Chikaru were of a higher quality than usual - but as this blog focuses on Yaya, I didn’t screencap them. Tamao’s failed attempts at share love-love- umbrella with Nagisa were also so hilarous. I liked the design of the summer uniforms. Even Chiyo failed to annoy me. LOL

This very lovely scene seemed to suggest that Hikari isn’t as clueless as she seems. Her question to Yaya about whether her roommate has anyone she loves seemed a chance for Yaya to come clean and get a clean wound that will heal rather than the slow thousand cuts that are already starting to fester right now. Hikari suddenly breaking off, standing up and running off also seems to be an attempt to draw a line against Yaya’s advances. Poor Yaya. T_T

Tsubomi, especially her embarrassment with Hikari and sniping with Yaya, is great fun to watch as always. orz position at the end of this scene pure bonus.

Tamao and Yaya’s simultaneous sighs of frustrated desire was pure gold too.

That last screencap just encapsulates everything that I’m loserfanboyish about the Hikari- Yaya- Tsubomi triangle. Would love to see one of those character relationship charts.
This was unquestionably the best episode so far, though it did lack the evil crazy lesbians and their metaphor convoluting ways, which made me sad. As did the scene with Yaya, who needs loving (i’d do it) and hikari is SUCH A FOOL. Chikaru rockets up the charts this week with her sherlock holmes shenanigans, whilst amane and shizuma move up moderately due to their umbrella conversation at the end. This episode didn’t cease cracking me up even for a second. Tamao-chan’s umbrella of love > chiyo’s boring non-mahou-shoujo umbrella of love, and poor tsubomi’s face, lol. I want to write an angsty tsubomi/yaya smut fic, for the hell of it.
Yay needs to start channeling Chikane and Show hikari some real Yuri love :D
PS. If a girl rapes another girl is that girl still a virgin?
emmorz, do leave a link if you write your fanfic!
XelloS^_-, given what StoPani is like, perhaps you might be careful about what you wish for. You just might get it but not quite in the way you expected… (;^_^)
I’m most definitely a Tamao fanboy when it comes to SPanic, and this episode delivers in spades, the number of Tamao-centric scenes. ^_^
I do not know whether it was intentional or not, but I noticed that this episode tried its’ best to avoid showing the characters from the sides. As a result, this episode by far, has the least facial deformations since the first episode. :)
Oh, and when Nagisa got back her umbrella… this was my first thought.
“Her harem grows.”
:P
More Tamao!
Gambatte!
Tamao-san!
