Really enjoyed this episode. I guess it helps that my expectations of this series were lower than low. For the first time, it feels like the stories of all the girls were coming together into some sort of *shock horror* coherent whole. I was also shrieking with laughter at how the series seem to be like verging on being some kind of terrible travesty - cum -unwanted- homage to MariMite with the whole loss of blue umbrella and hydrageneas forming the background of this episode. There was something for everyone and the key frames for Chikaru were of a higher quality than usual - but as this blog focuses on Yaya, I didn’t screencap them. Tamao’s failed attempts at share love-love- umbrella with Nagisa were also so hilarous. I liked the design of the summer uniforms. Even Chiyo failed to annoy me. song.* Even if the episode sequence gets jumbled up and our pitiful little human brains cannot immediately fathom the reason. Even if she seems like a capricious, petty, murderous God who has demanded that the sacrifice of the firstborn… ohwaitaminutesorry, that’s the other guy. In any case, I thought this episode was important to soften Haruhi’s less endearing traits and paves the way for gentle lurv-lurv mood in the next episode if the preview dialogue was anything to go by.
