Dutch manages to evade the missiles and camps out of range of the neo-Nazi mothership. The neo-Nazis are depicted in all their buffoonery with exaggerated speeches, displays of emotion, military ceremony and very awful singing - before lowering a submersible towards the sunken u-boat. On board, Revy is looting the corpses and Rock expresses his unease. Revy has a Hamlet moment. She described belief in God and love and all these sort of things to be foolish. The only thing one needs in life are money and guns; if Rock gets in way, she’ll kill him. Her life must have been really beyond fucked up for her to be the person she is today. They find the painting but the neo-Nazi boarding party arrives and in the gunfight, they make off with it.

We also have a flashback about the final moments when the sub’s captain is shot by the SS officer. The enraged crew eventually kill the latter but not before suffering at least three more casualties. At least Benny has a sense of humour. Revy’s icon is just so Revy.

The hotheaded woman decides to go after the submsersible, not realizing that there is a whole ship full of racist fascist crazies above. Rock manages to pull her away against her will, probably saving her life.

The pair are retrieved by the Lagoon mothership and determine to go after the Night Party ship. I was a bit peeved by the dark and murky animation in the sub scenes and overall this was a fairly slow episode but Revy’s exposition about life more than made up for it. It’s good to see her character being fleshed out. Even if it seems that she might have come from Hinamizawa. Next week, Revy does her stuff as the Lagoon company raids the neo-Nazi ship.
This episode made me think. Wow… I didn’t expect that to happen much, if at all, for Black Lagoon. :P More specifically however, it was the Ep06 preview that caught my attention. Revy’s mention to Dutch that she couldn’t work with Rock anymore.
Hmm…
