In lieu of hairtoss, Haruhi’s stroking of Mikuru’s head was good. Looks like Haruhi’s line from the novel about how, even though she’s a girl, she also finds Mikuru’s moé to be irresistable was cut. Would have screencapped Haruhi’s thrusting too except that the hip alignment wasn’t right.
The part where Haruhi simply puts Yuki’s glasses back onto her face and Yuki nonchalantly adjusting the joint at the bridge of her nose was just great. I thought that the additional detail (from the novel) about how Haruhi put up the maid photos on the SOS-Dan website (and how Kyon persuaded her to let him take them down, upon which he stored them with password protection for his own viewing pleasure) was great too. Incidentally the novel translation wiki has been a real pleasure - e.g. I would have missed how apprehensive Mikuru was of Yuki during the othello game. Also liked the bits about how Kyon seemed to realize that Yuki was feeling lonely - which made the end of the library scene quite sweet.
Mikuru Moé Power Maximum On!
I am Haruhi Suzumiya your Brigade Commander, who brought you out of the void three years ago, out of the land of nothingness. Kyon will date no other girls before me. Kyon shall not make for himself an idol in the form of anything in meido above or on bunnygirl beneath or in the cheerleader below. You shall not bow down to Mikuru or worship Yuki; for I, Haruhi Suzumiya your Brigade Commander, am a jealous Girl, punishing the world for the sins of Kyon with blue giants of light in closed space, but showing love to a thousand generations of otaku, of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Haruhi’s jealousy was also pure pleasure - particularly the motif of the way she sucked on her finished drink.
Despite the information overload, this episode worked well because all the blah blah blah was balanced by the Evangelion-like style of Yuki’s scenes, Mikuru’s super moé power, Haruhi’s antics and Kyon’s incredulity mixed with consternation that all the trio have told him might actually be true.

Good episode though I have to admit its one of the most serious out of the last 3 so far being with all the information Yuki, Mikuru. Itsuki gave Kyon would of given me a brain explosion though he took it like it was nothing…yeah even though he was confused hes got to have some significance with all this. Plus that Mikuru didnt give off information and said it was “Classified” even her AGE for god sake said was classified…hmm Turnoff…oh well who cares shes cute, innocent and wants to be with me…uh I mean Kyon I think I would rather of me ask Mikuru to take me back in time with her to the future where nothing happens and live a happy life = OMG Jackpot. I thought she was going to confess and I was like “ALREADY?” Ohhh well instead it was just information on the goddess herself ‘Haruhi’. Cant wait to see what Haruhi’s got planned for Mikuru ;).
