Technically it should be “toast” since untoasted pre-sliced factory-made bread won’t stand up to a running mouth hold. But as (1) Stripey has been using this term to describe the alternative Evangelion universe in Ep 26 for almost a decade now and (2) I am an old dog and just like the sound of "bread universe" mucho more than "toast universe". Well, no Natsumi x Koyuki in either of the two stories in this episode. :( There’s a meaningful glance from Koyuki in the first half when Keroro decides to invade the pool. :3 Giroro oogling the technical hologram of Natsumi in her swimsuit was priceless though and the tragedy of him not getting past the footwash barrier. The focus of this episode is Keroro’s attempt to win back Dororo’s allegiance (who now sees himself a protector of the Earth and this city) but as far as my screencapping and discussions go, it’s another opportunity to celebrate Natsumi x Koyuki. Previously I decided on a Natsumi-focused approach to blogging this series but I’ve been utterly paralyzed by the sheer size of the backlog. To make things more manageable, I’m switching to concentrating more specifically on Natsumi x Koyuki moments although I am also very fond of Natsumi oneesama moments, POWERD-723 scenes, Natsumi x Giroro moments as well as Angol Moa shiny happiness (helped by how Mamiko Noto sounds like she really really enjoys this role). Despite the cold and wet weather that predominated the episode, it left me with quite a warm and fuzzy feeling. All the boxes got ticked: Kyon sarcasm (small tick - though bonuses for the scenes when he seems to look at the viewer for support and affirmation of his exasperation like in a stage play), Mikuru moe (tick), Yuki poker face (tick), Haruhi tsundere (big tick).
