I’m categorizing this series as “Girl’s High” rather than “High School Girls” or “Joshi Kousei” because the latter set just forcibly reminds me of Kimura’s spontaneous and creepily heartfelt answer to Tomo’s question of: “Why did you become a teacher?” 女å高生ã¨ã‹å¥½ãã ã‹ã‚‰ï½žï½ž!!! ( ‘cuz I like high school girls and stuff!) orz
Ep 1. Eriko and Kouda are idiots. (Mikuru twirly finger gesture) Went to Forbidden Planet to browse the first volume and the focus is rather different but, given the onus on character introduction (vs. the insider-outside contrast), the anime’s structure is understandable. Anxious about her Sunday date with Sachiko, Yumi tries to get advice from her fellow petit soeurs but Shimako is on tenderhooks about her date with Shizuka while Yoshino is all insane jealousy about Rei’s date with Chisato. There’s some humour as Lillian Newspaper Club head, Minako and photographer Tsutako try to tail the daters and run into Yoshino. The episode ends on note of tensions: Yoshino has just spotted Chisato glomping Rei’s arm, Shimako’s unease has peaked with their arrival back at the empty Lillian while Yumi thinks that Sachiko has walked out on their date and, by extension, her.
