This is not a foray into the politics of fansub groups. This is not a criticism or endorsement, overt or implied, of any fansub group. This is just a passing observation that, sometimes, fansubs can make an anime even more enjoyable than watching it raw or with official subs. In stark contrast to Haruhi which came out of nowhere and made an excellent first impression, Jyoshi Kousei made a horrible first impression - gratituously emphasized pantsu fanservice, nerfing of various manga gags etc. Even LIME, which had subbed Eps 1 and 2, has suspended it indefinitely. Well, at least Erica and Mangaminx don’t hate it. The third episode was funny enough for me and I hope it will continue to improve. Inspired by this fan, I dream of an SOS Brigade Live Action Mass Dance at an anime convention near you… Much more complication than I thought with over fifty screencaps and three pages of text to cover one minute. I’ve got no chereography experience - though I’ve been gangpressed against my will into numerous mass dances in the course of education and military service in our glorious people’s democratic island republic - so I’m not really sure how useful this will be. Especially since there are no timing notes or cue against the backing track of Sunny Sunshiny Happy plus I might have gotten stage rights and lefts mixed up here and there. There were so many things against this series, going by my book. Clichéd plot - ordinary guy gets caught up in extraordinary events that changes his life and outlook. Pastiche of a main character that, from the OP, is clearly expected to carry the series - Levy being a pirate (One Piece?), hot chick with weapons (GITS?), custom handguns (Hellsing?) with Mr T wearing Batou range of designer eyewear and Kururu in a Hawaiian shirt riding shotgun.
