Mai Otome 24

I suppose Haruka is referring to the scriptwriters. The placement of the sub is also freakin’ brilliant! orz Just waiting for this series to be put out of its misery and this post will concentrate on stuff I actually enjoyed since I don’t really feel like complaining right now.

Nao-oneesama gets her GEM presented to her in a manner most fitting to her character. Pity out about the fugly spiderwoman robe but let’s hope that she’ll kick major arse in the conclusion.

Chie’s vigil at Aoi’s bedside. I just have this horrible feeling that Chie is either going to buy the farm at the hands of the Aswad or her Valkyrie suit. And mostly cuz we like her and stuff.

We’ve had three mentions of Ers-chan to get the plot moving along. Of course, her letter to Nina (and Arika) in which she reveals that she is either planning for a yuri harem or that she is Hazumu: “I love you both.” How Nina’s tears topped Ers-chan’s own tear stains on the letter was a particularly nice touch. Nice background song to go with the letter, marking it out as a Dramatic Event. Also liked her ‘lurve at first sight’ scene with Nina. However as letters (and yuri love letters) go, Kirika’s to Mireille still takes the cake.

Ers-chan also helps the Resistance posthumously through her Information Engineering textbook that Irina got her hands on. And Arika looks at Ers-chan’s bandage just before the stars come out to play.

We all new Ers-chan would be some kind of change factor in Nina and/or Arika…. If there is another season and Erstin isn’t one of the main characters , I will be surprised…. Arika will get 5 minutes of screen time, like Mai has this season and Tomoe will be shiz’d by someone who has a crush on her…heh.
Just my opinion, May be wrong…

I’m hoping Sergey gets off by protecting Arika and Nina saves the world by killing herself (which means killing Nagi) Don’t get me wrong, I actually like Nina and Sergey (despite the whole daddy-con affair) but this seems the most logical way to end the series. With the true heir out of the way, Mashiro, who has been so painstakingly groomed for queenship in the last 7 eps, could assume the throne and lead Windbloom into eternal bliss with Arika at her side. Sergey just doesn’t fit anywhere in this post-Nagi utopia so the best way is to remove him in the most dramatic of ways… ah well speculations speculations… :)

I only hope we are not in for a reset…. :)

Voodoomage - Am I naive to think that Ers-chan won’t come back? The bodycount isn’t really high enough for a reset and Ers-chan doesn’t exactly move Bandai merchandise.

Stripey - My good bro, as much as I’d like you to be right, I think Nina has as much chance of dying as Shinn did in the last arc of GSD. One of the three main characters, fanbase, merchandise blah blah. Also if you compare to Mai HiME, Nagi was defeated and was just “aw shucks” with no serious consequences after his loss. Mashiro might turn out to be Artai royalty with a stronger claim to the throne than Nagi - given that this ep hints that Nagi got the throne with Sergey’s assassination skillz. She takes over Artai (and brings her refugees there), Nina takes over Windbloom?

heh heh, the good news is Mai Otome does not rely as heavily on merchandising as the GUNDAM franchise. The bad news is yes, SUNRISE still doesn’t have wat it takes to kill of their leads although we should remember Cowboy Bebop. :)

I hope Mashiro returns as Windbloom queen. She needs to right her wrongs there. Being a good queen in Artai don’t quite cut it like it should. :) Nagi’s role in HiME is rather different from Otome. Here, he’s the key villian. In HiME, he was merely facilitating Reito’s plans. Of course that said, Reito was defeated with little reprecussions to himself anyway so bah! :P Personally HiME >> Otome as of ep 24.

The big question, of course, is - how will Mashiro be able to run Windbloom without Prime Meido Aoi?
