Arika and Mashiro are treated to Mai ramen. They are in the Black Valley where Cat God Mikoto lives with Mai. Natsuki and Nao-oneesama are soon dropped in. Miyu confirms that Nina is the heir to the throne of Windbloom while Arika is Rena’s daughter. Yeah, but there are two other seats at the Harmonium so Mashiro will probably join them. Besides she’s part of the main trio in the first and second OPs. In any case, Mai-hime (orz pun, SUNRISE) is revealed, in addition to be a legendary busty beauty Otome and delicious type of mushroom, to be a real princess by Natsuki. More importantly, Mashiro has now met the object of her object of desire’s siscon desire. Natsuki and Nao head back to Garderobe for great justice now that Nagi has set Nina on another teenage-angst fuelled rampage. Arika learns that she has much to learn from Mikoto.

Nao-oneesama saves Useless as Usual Natsuki from sending them into a Thelma and Louise ending without the snog. I wonder if Q equips her lipstick, if so, looking forward to Nao’s Aston Martin - take that, Kazu-bozu! In the onsen scene, the first thing I thought was: “Shayla-Shayla!” ~Oh heyla Shayla shayla oh ooh oooh, heyla oh oheyla shayla oh shayla shayla shaaaayla oh!~ (It was GBP 1.50 / pint of Guinness today at the student union bar! St Patrick’s Day is great.)

Miyu really is the deus ex machina of this series. But I really laughed out loud when she did her qinggong thing at the end, jumping from peak to peak.

Mai’s patented boobs therapy. Guaranteed to chase away the blues! She really should set up a clinic. For girls only though. Gero. GEROGEROGERO GEROGEROGERO GEROGEROGERO GEROGEROGERO GEROGEROGERO GEROGEROGERO

X1 Dalek, launch!
Smite the Otomeinators, my trusty Extended Black Diamond pilot!

First non-fatal cliffing falling, now this. Otome’s script writers have been watching too many corny adaptations of Jin Yong novels. Arika: “I have meet the high man!”
Mikoto: “Fufufu.”
Arika: “Expensive man! Teacher! Collect me as disciple!” *does the three kowtow*
Mikoto: “You know the manners. Now your training begins… gather leaky buckets of water from the river below the mountain to fill the leaky tub at the mountain top! Learn to evade my attacks from the side while you are standing in an area filled with grease! Learn the motions of the striking cobra! *tosses cobra at Arika* Run the gauntlet of the eighteen bronze men!”
Arika (wet, greasy, poisoned by cobra bite, swollen eye and cut lip): “Yes, Teacher!”
Mikoto: What? You still here!?
Zyl: orz
Next week, Ers-chan’s (posthumous) Kirika letter to Nina Bouquet! “Dear Nina-chan, I love everything about you. Your men’s shirt pajamas. I just wish you wore side-ties…
You know what REALLY cracks me up?
Uber-loner Nao from Mai HiME becomes the most effective helper ever in Otome. I mean, how many times has she skillfully saved other people’s rears, unrequested all on her own, for hardly a thank you? It’s amazing.
This episode made me wonder what Nao’s link to Miyu is. She clearly recognized her at the eyecatch, and she marvel-ogled her in the onsen. What’s going on here?
At least Nina and Arika seem to appreciate Nao. I’m happy that Loner Girl has gotten a much better deal in Otome and can’t wait for her to kick some serious ass as a Pillar. Only drawback is the fugly spiderwoman robe. T_T
I’m not sure if Nao has any other connection to Miyu though. Maybe she’s just remembering Miyu’s l33t coin shooting skillz…
Perhaps Nao is remebering the good olde days at the nunnery, as Sunrise might try and ram down the connection between Otome and Hime down all our throats.
Nao and Haruka get upgrades but I despise how Natsuki went form lady on a mission to damn near useless. Here’s to hoping for an awesome display of Pillar prowess. Spaeking of Pillars what of Bat Girl and some dude?
Crusader - that would mean that Otome is a direct sequel of HiME. I’m not entirely sure if the characters are exactly the same people who have been transported in the future due to the magic of the HiME festival or reincarnations of the HiMEs with memories of their past lives though I’m leaning towards the latter interpretation. As the Pillars, I just hope they will have cleared up the typo about “colums” by then. LOL
Boobs Therapy. LOLZ!!
Yeah, I am kind of annoyed that Natsuki is still portrayed as some useless damsel who needs her @$$ saved most of the time. She’s supposed to be one of the best, being a leader and all. Hope the writers would bring her back into full glory once Fumi gets re-activated…
marvels at the so-called Boob Therapy
More effective with crying out all your angst. Wow indeed.
Who are the two people talking durin the prevew for the next epasode, It kinda sounded like Mai and Shizuru but then the person who would be Shizuru says at the end that being comforted by Natsuki doesent make her feel bett and that wouldent be tru for the charecter of Shizuru because she is inlove with Natsuki sooooo now i’m just confused. anyone if you know who the two people are then tell me lol.
