Kashimashi 10

Yasuna proposes the Love Alliance (cf Onegai Twins) to Tomari - maintain the status quo so as to not hurt Hazumu by forcing her to choose between them. On this basis, Tomari says that she trusts Yasuna to maintain the alliance when she gets to go a date with Hazumu to Sea World. True to her word, Yasuna restrains herself despite the romantic atmosphere of the undersea tunnel of luurve. Big misunderstanding arises when Tomari thought she saw Yasuna and Hazumu kissing (while waiting for her to come get her souvenir at the train station near Tomari’s training area). During a late night walk, Tomari tells Hazumu about her feelings and they kiss. However Yasuna sees them and activates her Valkyrie GEM to flatten Tomari with the Dance of Valhalla. Keroro Gunso 101

This was my episode of the week. Not the series with huge followings this season i.e. Fate/Stay Night 11 (which hopefully will begin to pick up) or Mai Otome 23 (~And now, the end is near, And so we face the final curtain.~). Heck, even Kashimashi has been more consistent. Upon Jason’s suggestion, I browsed Vol.10 of the manga at the local Forbidden Planet and while I could see the dramatic potential of the Keron Platoon arc, I was still thinking: “How dramatic can it be? Afterall, this is still a frog comedy!” Boy, did this episode prove me wrong. Continue reading ‘Keroro Gunso 101′

Keroro Gunso 100

Again, already covered by Jason and I agree completely that the main source of humour was how although everyone had lost their memories, they still behaved according to their established roles. It’s a bit of a tra-de-gy that I consider Keroro Gunso as SUNRISE’s best recent treatment of the Gundam franchise. Even when the animation for the Gundam scenes are lovingly done, e.g. Keroro’s precious Gundam model collection, Keroro’s Lightning Palm of Death: Continue reading ‘Keroro Gunso 100′

Mai Otome 23

Arika and Mashiro are treated to Mai ramen. They are in the Black Valley where Cat God Mikoto lives with Mai. Natsuki and Nao-oneesama are soon dropped in. Miyu confirms that Nina is the heir to the throne of Windbloom while Arika is Rena’s daughter. Yeah, but there are two other seats at the Harmonium so Mashiro will probably join them. Besides she’s part of the main trio in the first and second OPs. In any case, Mai-hime (orz pun, SUNRISE) is revealed, in addition to be a legendary busty beauty Otome and delicious type of mushroom, to be a real princess by Natsuki. More importantly, Mashiro has now met the object of her object of desire’s siscon desire. Natsuki and Nao head back to Garderobe for great justice now that Nagi has set Nina on another teenage-angst fuelled rampage. Arika learns that she has much to learn from Mikoto.
