Plug-ins Upgrade: SK2.2 and Simple Spoiler

Kazumi wishes she hadn’t clicked on the ’show spoiler’ tag.

Following Kabitzin’s recent cues, I’ve upgraded Spam Karma to 2.2 so if your comment gets eaten, please do let me know so that I can adjust my blacklist accordingly. So far my own karma scores are still ok though. ;)

The spoiler plug-in (by Leong Wai Kay, third hand via Hung) was a bit more tricky. I didn’t write the syntax correctly for spoiler in the kses.php file of the wp-includes folder and ended up with a parsing error that rendered the whole blog inaccessible. Doh! Thankfully it appears to have been resolved. A good reminder for my (supposedly regular) end-of-monthly backup of my database as well. (;^_^)

Personally I’m not adverse to spoilers (I always read Omni’s posts before I download an episode!) as I’m more interested in how something happens rather than what happens. My handful of regular readers will know that my posts tend to be replete with spoilers not just from the anime but from manga, game and other sources as well. Thus I’ve added a statement on my very rampant spoiling in the header. A bit like those redundant MacDonald’s warnings on their coffee containers: “The liquid inside is hot and may cause scalding.” or Surgeon General’s warnings on ciggie packs.

However as it seems that many readers are wussy sensitive when it comes to spoilers, this plug-in has been added for those who are more considerate than me. To use, enclose spoiler material with
and
.

For example, my favourite Fate/Stay Harem spoiler: ▼ Show

firebrand – I certainly hope that will turn out to be a real spoiler. :)

T_I – Thanks!! I didn’t realise it even though it was just at the back of my mind… now isn’t that something.. Ayako Kawasumi and Noriko Shitaya have worked together as the main leads who were also lovers!! But really, the pathetic way Himeko kept repeating that line at the end of each ep preview was one of my major irritants about that series (other than the big robots and plot holes) so the quiet, thoughtful and loving words at the end of the penultimate ep (11) was really nice.
