Saber - swift as the flame, immovable as the mountain, noble as the lion, sleepy as the pig. LOL Wish she could have shown a larger appetite though. Mostly got the impression of developing the Shirou-Saber relationship with Saber trying to adjust to her very unusual Master who insists on treating her like a normal girl and friend.
Another lightweight episode but, given that the swelling in my eyes has only just gone down from Mai Otome 17, almost everything else this week seems lightweight. I did enjoy Taiga-nee vs Saber very much with Taiga-nee being stared down and then smacked down. Much welcome hilarity and Taiga-nee giving off strong oneesama vibes - silly oneesama but oneesama nonetheless (and consolation of high praise from the strict Saber). I couldn’t take the Rin vs Shirou school chase seriously at all because of the SD animation of the stair jumps as well as Rin being embarrassed by her pantyflash.
Thought I heard a “meow” as Taiga-nee wilted. ;)
I dunno but while the yukata scene was lovely, I just thought it was a bit weird that the girls are going to bed with their hair bows and braids still tied up and Taiga-nee still having those huge pearl earrings on.
And why was Sakura embarrassed when Saber asked her if she was the one who takes care of food for Shiro? Her protestations when Saber was introduced was also cute. More on that in a separate post.
Weirdly, Rin just reminded me of Keroro Gunso. “I’m going to kill you now since I have the advantage” and “Let’s cooperate because I’m weak and helpless.”
And in conclusion, RIN X SABER FTW!!!
Maybe it’s because I’m largely unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night. Or maybe it’s because I just plain suck at switching gears. But every time you say, “RIN X SABER FTW!”, I can’t help but think, “NO! What about Asa?!?”
I found the comic animation of the school chase weird as well; I think it was a conscious decision on the studio’s part to make it apparent that Rin didn’t really want to kill Shiro with her gant, but I have no idea whether or not she had the same intentions in the game.

It seems everyone is thinking about the same thing during that whole Rin and Shirou chase. Plus, the background music doesn’t help in the slightest bit. It sounded all wrong during that situation. ^^;;;
Ma, not that I mind a lil’ silliness… At least it decreased my depression a bit. I’m still very sore about Otome 17. *Sobs*

Can’t wait to watch next week’s ep. Rider~! Rider~! Rider~!! I’m hoping the writers would throw in some yuri goodness with her as well, no matter how subtle it may be. ~^^~

W4 - The kanji for Rin wrt Tsuchimi and Tohsaka only differs by 2 strokes as well. Wouldn’t Asa make a good master for Saber? She can use her healing magic while Saber tanks. ;) Also her seiyuu, Miki Itou, voices Fujimura Taiga.
tragicsmile - Ah yes, now I’ve seen the sub, Rin just intended to curse him first. What was that all about? I think she’s seriously conflicted.
Dav - Rider’s got the curves alright but I’d like to hear her voice before deciding. Looks like her master is either Shinji or Issei…
Kurogane - I was really LOL when Taiga-nee wailed that Shirou had been taken away from her by some strange person about being bopped on the head by Saber. :D
Oy… if Rin Tsuchimi gets any more females in love with him, even Ranma and Tenchi will be able to accuse him of being a player. @_@
As for Rin Tohsaka and Saber, all I’ve seen so far is their symmetrical docking on “The Symmetrical Docking Post.” Considering that you were dead-on about Tsuchi and Asa, I’ll support the RIN X SABER charge.

There’s a scene from the Fate thread with Rin x Saber symmetrical docking. Will post it to celebrate if and when it actually happens. Though I have to say my hopes are fading somewhat… The whole thing might be nerfed in the way Hisui/Kohaku x Akiha was glossed over in Tsukihime.
As for Tsuchi x Asa, actually my ultimate fantasy couple for SHUFFLE! would be Asa x Kareha. ;)

I have a feeling we won’t be disappointed once we hear Rider’s voice. From what I’ve seen so far in other series, Rider’s seiyuu is famous (Or should I say, notorious? ~_^) for voicing hot, sexy, and not forgetting busty women. I can confidently say she’ll fit Rider perfectly. Well, of course it depends on whether she uses that voice. ^^
Yes, Dav, the Rin x Saber Fanboy Army shall conquer all. Even if the series doesn’t deliver, we can still fall back on the hordes of Rin x Saber yuri doujins! :P
