Arika is rescued by Sergey - with some help from the Juliet Gang. Sergey does not kiss Arika despite his orders from Nagi to seduce the real queen of Windbloom (at this point, Sergey assumes it’s the one with the Blue Sky Sapphire pendant) and instead antagonizes her by ridiculing the Have Your Dream and Love Plan and blaming Rena for the deaths of the King and Queen. Sure it’s a welcome relief that they don’t kiss but it seems that Sergey didn’t kiss her to protect her and then is out of sorts on his office couch later. *ominous thunder* Miiya is expelled but does not implicate Tomoe who is certain that Shizuru pays attention to Arika only because of the Blue Sky Sapphire. Arika and Mashiro get their mojo back - the former resolving to become a Meister Otome as quickly as possible while the latter accepts Arika’s suggestion to become a queen who makes her people happy.

Nao-onee-sama! Was actually quite fun to see her surprised and out of her usual cool shell - being shocked by the Arika-Sergey hug, being surprised by Chie and Aoi when preparing to boat-drag the Miiya gang and then being stunned when Arika exploded on Ms Maki-Maki.

ZOMG, I half-suspected that Miiya had the hots for Tomoe from the way the latter snuggled up to her in the previous episode in the buildup to ordering the hit on Arika. Wonder what she said in the letter to make Miiya tear it up like that?

More SUNRISE teasing about Chie x Aoi, with them being on a date when running into Nao-sama before she can carry out her punishment of Arika’s assailants. As I’ve mentioned before, Aoi seems to be one who is really running the country. This time with intel from Chie, she’s gotten the Queen and her assumed future Meister Otome back on their emotional feet.

‘I love you, Daddy. Teehee.’ X_x
‘Why do I love a girl with Daddy-con? sniff sniff’

Ers-chan may be the sweetest girl on the block but she’s also perceptive when it comes to Arika’s emotions and, I think, will be at least a wee bitty bit disappointed that her little plan to remove the main obstacle to Nina has failed.

As I’ve said before, I think Bratty Mashiro really works well in this universe. If the same serene, know-it-all Mashiro from the Mai HiME was just ported over as she was, there just wouldn’t be this kind of chemistry between Mashiro and Arika. I was going to make some catty remark about Windbloom being doomed as a result of strategic policy being made by two 15 year old girls on a sleep over and policy papers being drawn up with crayons but then again, thinking back on all the real policy papers I’ve seen from all over, Arika-Mashiro-crayon policy doesn’t seem like such a bad thing anymore. -_-;;
And there was that street urchin kid again (cf. Nina’s locket thief, scolding Mashiro for giving the food from Takumi to Mikoto) who seems to have some relation the now dead granny witness of the baby switch. Is there any significance to this?
Dear Miya,
Your forhead is too damn big
Regards,
Tomoe
::Miya cries::
LOL, T_I!
My own speculation was something like “Shizuru >>> Miiya” or “Tomoe x Shizuru FTW”. :P
Needed more ChieXAoi.
I think spiky haired kid is just background honestly. I don’t think he’ll have any more significance other than to show how the other half lives, especially, since we don’t even know his name, or at least I don’t remember any characters speaking it.
Heh. You’d think Natsuki be used to that kind of thing. ;)
I think Electra Complex is a more accurate term than “Daddy-con” but it amounts to the same thing.
Yeah, it is more accurate. But hey, saying “Daddy-con” is fun! :p
Hmm. The Natsuki comment was supposed to be reference to Mikoto latched onto her face. Note to self: avoid “” for anything other than tags.
