Miruku is saved by her white tiger. Ayaa reveals that Seiren was a demoness spawned by Lilith as the latter realizes that Seiren was only interested in harnessing Miruku’s power. Hazuki and Lilith give their boat to Miruku and return to the Great Library and fix the book with the tear in it which gives Miruku her headaches and prevents her from growing up and thus finding love. As we know from the start of the previous episode, Miruku does grow up and has reached the far shore with Ayaa’s help.
The second half of the episode deals with Hazuki and Hatsumi before the latter’s disappearance. Hazuki’s seriously sexual attraction to Hatsumi is hammered home - not one but two scenes of Hazuki getting off NSFW *shlick shlick* NSFW. At the end of the episode, when Hazuki resolves to maintain the status quo, we are given a hint that Hatsumi might feel the same way about her.

Again, despite Lilith’s ditzy demeanour and her guardianship of the Great Library, we are reminded of her demonic and more sinister aspects.

A guy chatting up Hatsumi! Intolerable! Her sweet smile soon soothes the yuri beast though.

Since Hatsumi doesn’t speak, communication by the typed word - via mobile email, normal email and letters come an important motif. In any case - when was the last time you hand wrote a letter to a friend or loved one?

Hatsumi out on a date…

Shlick No.2 in Hatsumi’s bed

An indirect kiss - reward for eating the inedible

Listening to Hatsumi use the bathroom -_-;; then feeling her presence.

It turns out that the mysterious letter writing girl is Hatsumi. Would things have been different if Hazuki had been more forward in expressing her feelings to Hatsumi? I doubt so because Eve’s incarnations seem to intoxicate the people who love them - Hazuki herself displayed some of Gargantua’s behaviour in wanting Hatsumi for herself and for no one else.
Heh.. This just goes to show how hard it was for the production team to really “behave themselves” and not let the anime turn into one raging sex romp.
It was surprising to see a character, and a female character no less, in a non-H anime being as horny as Hazuki. ^_^;
I know that this episode put some people off Hazuki but I actually developed a lot of sympathy for her as a result - the unrequited love part usually hooks me.
