For me, it brought home why the series is called “Suzuka” even though it is told from Yamato’s POV most of the time i.e. everything revolves around Suzuka coming to terms with and then moving on from Tsuda’s death. On board the train, Youko smacks down the Colonel and is sheltered by the Siberian Tiger who brings Adam to her. They are then confronted at gun point by the drunk and train conductor who are also undercover spies. Everyone except her is killed. Or so she thought - the Siberian Tiger is a double agent and sends her through the window. Or so he thought. He accosts Hazuki but gets his desserts at the ends of two very pissed off and martially skilled ladies. Another retro-blog of an old (but as yet unlicensed) series, Yami to boushi to Hon no Tabibito (The Travellers: Yami, Hat and Book - aired end 2003). Hazuki Azuma, voiced by the distinctive Mamiko Noto, has developed a serious (and unmistakeably) sexual attraction to her older sister, Hatsumi but the latter disappears on the wee morning of her 16th birthday. Hazuki goes world-hopping in search of Hatsumi, whom her companions - an Kansai-ben speaking bird Ken-chan and the formidably head-dressed Lilith - know as Eve. Continue reading ‘Yamibou 1′
