Souma asks Himeko out on a date with Chikane acquiescing, glassy-eyed and all. Turns out that Himeko had an abusive foster dad and Souma was a comforting childhood friend. Trying to be positive, Chikane evokes one of Himeko’s bad childhood memories when she tries to do up her hair for the Souma date. This, plus Himeko actually going for the date itself, causes her major angst. There’s been plenty of buzz about WordPress 2.0 in the anime blogging community and I’ve just hopped onto this bandwagon as well. Was due for a mySQL database backup anyway. So far so good though I must confess that I’m not a fan of the rich visual editor - having trouble controlling text alignment and my old SOP (basically ctrl-C the html, ctrl-V, modify numbers) for inserting images was quicker. What I do really like is the WYSIWYG post preview, which incorporates your theme - absolutely brilliant!
ShortStat is not compatiable with WP 2.0 but I won’t be missing it as it was becoming kinda clunky - am waiting for Google Analytics to reopen to new signups.
[Edit: SK2 issues - comment count does not update even though comments are accepted. Easily fixed with an additional .php file via The Lair. Thanks to Clopin for raising this issue and the solution in the WP troubleshooting documentation!]
With Himeko’s dorm room destroyed, Chikane decides to try cohabiting. The head maid, who loves Chikane, realizes what her mistress is up to though. Himeko suffers bullying in school due to jealousy but both her male and female suitors come to her aid - the latter without her knowledge though. During their miko cosplay, Chikane takes a hit while shielding Himeko. They have a romantic little chat at the beach with Himeko’s shell pendant becoming a Plot Device. The catgirl Orochi minion shows up. Chikane is unable to protect Himeko and Souma saves the day again. Continue reading ‘Kannazuki 03′
Himeko and Chikane are informed that about the legend of the Orochi - an evil god who is sealed by a shrine on the moon and the shrine maidens of sun and moon who are to defeat him - by Souma’s elder priest brother. Overwrought by her status as Hi no Miko, Himeko tries to run away but is intercepted by Chikane who reveals she is the shrine maiden of the moon (Tsuki no Miko) - so they’re both in the same boat. An Orochi minion arrives to ruin the romantic mood and beats down Chikane. Souma arrives and saves the day again.

It’s a 2004 series (
official website) but I’ve been itching to blog it so here goes. Overall story is Klutzy Girl (Himeko) who is loved by the School Princess (Chikane) and the Prince
of Tennis (Souma). Throw in pseudo-Shinto blah blah, miko cosplay and big robots but it still boils down to: “Who will get the klutzy girl?”
