
With Himeko’s dorm room destroyed, Chikane decides to try cohabiting. The head maid, who loves Chikane, realizes what her mistress is up to though. Himeko suffers bullying in school due to jealousy but both her male and female suitors come to her aid - the latter without her knowledge though. During their miko cosplay, Chikane takes a hit while shielding Himeko. They have a romantic little chat at the beach with Himeko’s shell pendant becoming a Plot Device. Himeko and Chikane are informed that about the legend of the Orochi - an evil god who is sealed by a shrine on the moon and the shrine maidens of sun and moon who are to defeat him - by Souma’s elder priest brother. Overwrought by her status as Hi no Miko, Himeko tries to run away but is intercepted by Chikane who reveals she is the shrine maiden of the moon (Tsuki no Miko) - so they’re both in the same boat. An Orochi minion arrives to ruin the romantic mood and beats down Chikane. Souma arrives and saves the day again.

It’s a 2004 series (
official website) but I’ve been itching to blog it so here goes. Overall story is Klutzy Girl (Himeko) who is loved by the School Princess (Chikane) and the Prince
of Tennis (Souma). Throw in pseudo-Shinto blah blah, miko cosplay and big robots but it still boils down to: “Who will get the klutzy girl?”
