Many thanks to Doremi fansubs for pointing to a pic (also attached below) to explain what "orz" means. Ms Nekomimimeido explains "In conclusion, this is what it’s all about…" - orz means がっくり (to drop on one’s knees, connotating some kind of negative emotional impact). Kikyou’s over-aggressive Rin Offensive results in her object of desire’s bewilderment and ultimate rejection of her feelings. After another excellent Kikyou-Lisianthus exchange (love the sudden snapping from one perspective to another, background music, variations of voice in Sia/Kikyou modes), Kikyou promises never to appear again. Sia explains that Kikyou was her younger twin sister that was never born (?) and whose consciousness resides deep within herself but that Kikyou is also Sia. (Interesting parallel to the Nerine-Licorice relationship.) Later Rin also rejects Sia who then starts to suspect that the person he likes may be Asa. Also glimpses that Asa was strongly on Rin’s mind, during the Kikyou interregnum, which are positive indications of a Rin-Asa ending. See Omni for screencaps (including an R-15 Sia screenie!) and summary. Continue reading ‘SHUFFLE! 17′
Light on plot but good on character development, this episode was very important in shaping my views of the series - firstly I found Nina much more likeable just as the previous episode caused me to find Arika quite lovable despite my initial non-enthusiasm. Really funny to see how easily Arika gets under Nina’s skin. AA-RII-KAA!!!
Secondly, sweet sweeeeet yuri pouring from SUNRISE like manna from the heavens!!! *laps it all up* ~slurp~ ~slurp~ ~SLUUUUURRPPP~ Go, Erstin-chan!!!
Thirdly, like Kurogane, I felt that Nao was awesome - loner girl FTW! I was a Nao fanboy in Mai HiME and felt rather sorry that she got stomped on and shafted the most, aside from Akane. Bonus points for stomping on Annoying- Little-Twat- Redeemed -as -Comedy-Villian Shiho. Also see Omni for more comprehensive screencaps and summary. Continue reading ‘Mai Otome 06′

Honoka breaks up with Yamato. In the end, it was surprisingly amicable as she accepted his present and gave him a farewell kiss. Continue reading ‘Suzuka 19′

Yamato and Suzuka shop for Honoka’s birthday present. Along the way, Suzuka gets Yamato to buy her a ring. Arriving late at their meeting point with Honoka only to find the aftermath of a traffic accident and a torn, bloodied hair ribbon on the ground. Oops. Wrong anime. ^_- But you get the general idea - wails of "Poor Honoka!" from us Honoka-chan Fanboys and triumphant cries of "Suzuka FTW!" from the Suzuka Fanboys.
