Phew! Finally caught up! The firefly-in-flower thing was absolutely gorgeous and so romantic. And the scene parallels the one in the OP - with the latter showing the red thread which many Northeast Asian cultures use to depict the fated love between a couple. Feel so sorry for Honoka-chan but she’s put up a good fight, now all that remains to see how she’ll lose Yamato and how badly she’ll be hurt. Sigh.

Poor Honoka-chan was quite shocked at how enthusiastically Yamato latched onto her reason of him not being able to do anything with Suzuka because his family was around. She can already feel him drifting away from her.

Again, what a lovely scene. That their relationship is currently so screwed up makes it rather bittersweet. Suzuka seems so lovely when she’s not icy and scowling but I suppose it’s her normal ice queen mode that makes her sweet mode even sweeter. The situation also paralleled Yamato’s confession in Ep 6 except she takes it back at the second opportunity after, at first, denying that she was making fun of Yamato. So essentially a Shigure Asa tactical retreat.

Somehow I just kept thinking of the parallel between Honoka-chan and Chloe - the latter going berserk (in Noir ep 25) and screaming that it was supposed to be her living in Paris with Kirika - when Suzuka was getting to know Yamato’s family and enjoying the firefly scenery. Looking forward to her fightback, even if it is, IMHO, ultimately doomed.
