I really wasn’t going to follow DCSS and only picked up DCSS 06 because it promised to be a Miharu-centric episode. So I thought I could just follow DCSS thereafter via the mightily fast Omni. Well, that was until he started the entry with “Nemu wakes up in Miharu’s bed…” My imagination immediately went on a mad rampage through Yuriland.
But seriously, my initial low expectations of DCSS has been transformed by DCSS 06 and 07. Mainly, things aren’t smooth sailing between Nemu and Junichi and so there’s dramatic tension and a chance for one or more of the other girls to stick their fingers into the siscon pie.

The Miharu-Kotori interaction was a bucket of laughs but I am a bit disappointed that Miharu is being less than completely faithful to her Nemu-sempai. Well, I guess since Junichi has a whole series of girls mooning over him, Miharu should be given some leeway to date other girls. And given that Kotori is oh-so-nice maybe she won’t have the heart to refuse Miharu. Haha!

Poor Kotori’s confusion is so cute. Now in addition to also liking Junichi, she gets to have something else in common with Nemu i.e. getting fondled by Miharu. I bet a lot of guys are wishing they are Miharu in this episode, eh? Haha!
Yuri jokes aside, this episode hints that Nemu is probably not going to disappear after a quick cameo, contrary to Stripey’s DCSS 06 speculation. Also not sure if her presence back in the series will only last as long as the physical examination sessions.
I agree completely with Omni’s assessment that “their feelings for each other are ironically pushing Junichi and Nemu away from each other.” There is a two year gap to be filled. Nemu feels that she is being (dis/re)placed by Aisha’s presence in the household. Junichi is still bedevilled by the questions of “Why did Nemu go away? And why did she return now?” Until he can get an acceptable answer to that, this will be a significant obstacle to the current development of their relationship. DCSS 06 showed Nemu’s jealousy (of Aisha’s presence) which was a fun staple of DC’s 1st season. On the other hand, DCSS 07 showed Junichi’s jealousy (of the doctor’s rather close treatment of Nemu), something which did not feature strongly in the 1st season at all. Significantly Nemu reacts badly to this display of jealousy, seeing it not as a sign of Junichi’s intense desire for her but of mistrust and compared to their rapport of two years ago, makes it all the more difficult for her to accept. Add misunderstanding and runaway emotions choking up the communication channel, and well, melodrama and angst here we come.
Who will be the rival? The very prescient Mentar’s hunch is Kotori will be the Rival and this would play well to her fanbase. I have some difficulty imagining a Kotori invasion going anywhere though. There are definitely some signs of mobilisation with her downright uncheerful demeanor at Nemu’s return to her rather feeble attempt to ask Nemu about the state of the siscon with Junichi. She doesn’t seem to have that kind of fight in her but then I could be underestimating her.
And I’m told that Aishia is the main rival in the game version but I can’t really see it happening at this point other than perhaps she is a replacement Sakura Yoshino to reignite the battle of siscon vs lolicon that characterised DC 1st season. DCSS 06 and 07 have been full of surprises so let’s see what else Feel has up their sleeves.
Oh, I wonder how Nemu will react to Miharu’s “defection.” Et tu Miharu? :P
just where exactly do you get your anime sources from? I’m so jealous!
smudgi3, please check your email and be jealous no more! Was a bit too wordy for me to reply in a comment. Cheers.
