Lunamaria Hawke: We’re still in Orb when the demands of the Earth Alliance, led by the Atlantic Federation, were made to PLANT including the hand over of terrorists (who are all dead), the dismantling of our military (like real) and the dissolution of our current government administration (which we elected and not you). A declaration of war was issued by the EA and the Minerva went to Condition Yellow.
Lunamaria Hawke: The Minerva arrived in Orb. While undergoing repairs, the crew got shore leave which Meyrin and the tech guys take advantage of. Neither Rey nor myself took it up though. Shinn eventually did go the memorial where he met a couple.
Lunamaria Hawke: We retrieved Impulse and Athrun’s ZAKU before they crashed into the Pacific Ocean which we then landed on. Cagalli-san showed she has less political sense than even Shinn, not realising that Coordinators will be blamed for the Junius 7 disaster despite the efforts of the Jule Squadron and Minerva. Athrun clearly felt the weight of his father’s legacy which declared that only the Coordinators are the new humanity. Later, at my invitation, he cheered up a bit during shooting practice but Shinn had to ruin everything by questioning why Athrun wants to return to Orb.
Lunamaria Hawke: We headed out to Junius 7 to deal with the renegade GINNs but then Chaos, Gaia and Abyss joined in the fray. My ZAKU Warrior lost half a leg after an extended battle with Gaia. The mission, led by veterans Yzak Jule, Dearka Elsman and of course, Athrun Zala, succeeded in breaking Junius 7 into two. Athrun stays behind to try and do more, inspired, Shinn joins him. Captain Gladys makes the decision to descend into the Earth’s atmosphere to try and break Junius 7 up more with the Tannhauser. But the pieces still weren’t small enough and a lot of damage was done.
Lunamaria Hawke: This was GSD’s take on Armageddon/Deep Impact when Junius 7 started falling towards the Earth. Cagalli-san overheard a thoughtless comment from Youlan and chastised him but ended up being screamed at by Shinn who blames her father for his family’s death. ‘Alex’ was lent a ZAKU with permission from Chairman Dullindal and launched with us to support the meteor breaking operation with Jule Squadron which was battling an unknown force of GINNs at Junius 7. I teased him a bit about whether he still wanted to come with us now that there’s a new battle and he shrugged it off, reclaiming the name ‘Athrun Zala’ as he launches.
